We're both. The Bath Arms combines the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional Somerset pub with a restaurant serving modern British cuisine. Whether you're craving classic pub favourites such as fish and chips or burgers, or something a little more refined from our seasonal menu, there's something to suit every occasion. Join us for lunch, dinner, Sunday lunch or drinks on our sunny terrace.
Do I need to book a table?
We recommend booking, particularly for Friday and Saturday evenings, Sunday lunch and school holidays. Walk-ins are always welcome whenever we have tables available. We are unable to reserve tables on the terrace, but there is plenty of outdoor seating available. Tables can be booked online or by calling us directly on 01934 742 425.
Is there free parking?
Yes. We offer free parking for all customers. Whether you're visiting for a meal, drinks or staying overnight, you're welcome to use our on-site car park. Simply enter your vehicle registration into one of the tablets inside the pub.
Do you accept large group bookings?
Yes. We welcome birthdays, family celebrations, walking and cycling groups, and other gatherings. If you're planning a larger booking, please contact us directly so we can help make the arrangements.
Do you have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options?
Yes. Our menus include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes, and many meals can be adapted to suit dietary requirements. Please let your server know about any allergies or dietary needs when ordering.
Is The Bath Arms dog friendly?
Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our designated dog-friendly areas inside the pub and throughout our outdoor seating areas. We also provide water bowls to keep four-legged visitors comfortable after exploring the local countryside. Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant dining area, with the exception of assistance dogs.
Is The Bath Arms suitable for children?
Yes. Families are very welcome in our restaurant and outdoor seating areas, and we have a dedicated children's menu available. With Cheddar Gorge, the Mendip Hills and many nearby attractions to explore, we're a popular choice for family meals during days out in Somerset.
Can I stop for food while visiting Cheddar Gorge?
Absolutely. The Bath Arms is just a short walk from Cheddar Gorge, making it the perfect place to enjoy lunch, dinner or a drink before or after exploring the Gorge. Staying just outside the busiest tourist area also means you can avoid the crowds while remaining within easy walking distance.
Do you serve Sunday roast?
Yes. We serve traditional Sunday roasts throughout the year, prepared with your choice of roast meats, seasonal vegetables, homemade Yorkshire puddings and rich gravy. Vegetarian options and our children's menu are also available.
Is The Bath Arms easy to reach from the M5?
Yes. The Bath Arms is around 20 minutes from Junction 22 or approximately 30 minutes from Junction 21 of the M5, making us an excellent stop for travellers exploring Somerset or breaking up a longer journey through the South West.
Are there good walks near the pub?
Yes. The Bath Arms is perfectly located for walkers. Explore the spectacular cliffs and caves of Cheddar Gorge, enjoy the Strawberry Line cycling and walking trail, discover the Mendip Hills National Landscape or take a gentle stroll around Cheddar Reservoir. Yes. We have plenty of space for guests to park and secure their bikes while enjoying food or drinks with us. The Bath Arms is ideally located for cyclists exploring the Strawberry Line and the Mendip Hills, making it a great place to stop for refreshments before continuing your ride.
